Firefighters rushed to King Electric Scooters in Richmond Hills around 3 p.m. after the latest battery-sparked fire took off. After crews managed to get control of the blaze and put out the flames, dozens of charred and blackened scooters and bikes were pulled from the building.
Torrington fire officials said firefighters responded to the 30 block of Red Mountain Avenue around 2:57 p.m. Thursday for a report of a fire. Personnel commanded by Battalion Chief Patrick Doyle found a detached two-bay garage engulfed in flames spreading to the adjoining home, officials said.
On Sept. 11, a construction worker was inside the home and called 911 to report an explosion. The flames spread quickly and caused the roof to collapse before firefighters were able to get it under control.
